What happens when Alex, a male version of Bridget Jones, falls in love with a Lebanese-Muslim woman??
The Bulldog Theatre Company brings you the return season of the smash hit Alex & Eve. Alex & Eve premiered in July of 2006 and was an overwhelming hit–a crowd pleaser. Many regular theatregoers were amazed at the audience response to the show. It’s a hilarious ride with serious undertones and while the audience has a rollicking time, the theme of racial integration is explored. In addition, the film version of the story has been optioned by Essential Viewing(producers of the 2007 hit Clubland).

THE AUTHOR
Alex is a graduate of Western Kentucky University. After three years on the professional tennis tour, Alex hung up his rackets for the less stressful and more secure arts world!!! Alex’s first screenplay Sydney’s Underworld has received two stages of development funding from the NSWFTO and is scheduled to be shot next year. His second screenplay won the best non-produced screenplay in 2004. His third screenplay ‘Alex & Eve’ has been optioned by Essential Viewing(Clubland). His fourth screenplay, GOLF HACKERS, has recently received development funding from the Australian Film Commission.
Alex began writing stage plays two years ago and has since had 3 of his plays performed. Alex’s first stage play, The Negotiating Table, was performed in January of 2006 at the Crypt Theatre to full houses. Alex’s second stage play, the premiere of Alex & Eve, was performed at Sidetrack Theatre in 2006 to sold out houses. Alex Lykos then followed with the smash hit of last year, Better Man, a dramatic play about the reunion of two best friends: one a professional tennis player and the other a “professional drug dealer.
Alex Lykos is a contemporary playwright who is bringing cinemagoers to the theatre. He does this by writing stories that reflect who we are as a nation and the problems young adults face in trying to navigate their way through what is becoming a more difficult city to live in.
