Former President Tassos Papadopoulos Passed Away

The Former President of Cyprus Tassos Papadopoulos lost his battle with lung cancer today at 1.07pm. Papadopoulos was the politician who in 2004 proposed the rejection of the Anan plan, as he feared the presence of Turkish troops in Cyprus.
Papadopoulos was born on 7th January 1934, was married with four children. He studied law in England at the Kings College at the University of London and had a very successful career with his legal profession. He was first voted as a member of parliament in 1970 and was President of Cyprus from 2003 until 2008 when Dimitris Hristofias had won the elections.
