#Telstra on the other hand sell you a SIM that can only be activated by calling from a Telstra service? Hmmm isnt that why I bought the SIM? 3 weeks ago
Amazing how difficult it can be to simply unlock your mobile handset with #Vodafone providing an online service that can't find a real IMEI! 3 weeks ago
It’s the time of the year when some people are fortunate enough to make a trip back to Athens for the Christmas & New Year holidays. Many of you also get a chance to go to the nightclubs and see a few performances.
The artists are all out again for the winter and it will be very difficult to pick and choose who to see unless you have the luxury of being able to get to most of them.
Imagine a performance with Peggy Zina and Dimitris Mitropanos?
How can you resist a night with both Parios and Gonidis performing together?
Or for a “heavy” night the duo Melas and Terlegkas belting out a few wrist-slashers? Even Mazonakis and Paola would have you stretching out for the whiskey bottle.
Modern music followers have their fair share of hard choices too. Remos and Paparizou are together at Diogenes Studio which promises to be a good evening of entertainment. Or how about the dynamic duo of Anna Vissi and Sakis Rouvas? Even if the music isn’t enough to entertain you their good looks are bound to bring about a lot of interest from their fans.
For those looking for a retro night there’s even something for you. Kalliris, Livieratos and Rakintzis will be satisfying those who want to reminisce their 90′s glory … especially their female fans. Bessy Argyraki is back at it as well and she definitely is a blast from the past.
Laika are always a favorite with many and there are a number of singers still going strong entertaining generations of fans. Haroula Lambraki is still at it and so too Antonis Repanis.
There also very good artists coming together offering a more contemporary night out. Stand outs are the ex Pyx Lax singers, Pliatsikas and Stokas, although not performing together at the same venue.
Here’s a list I compiled from athinorama.gr of where some of your favorite singers are performing this winter.

Winter has finally arrived in Athens and that also means that the nightclubs have been at it for a few weeks for this winter’s new shows. I have tried to compile a list of who is singing where in Athens this winter 2008. Unfortunately I am not having as much luck with sourcing the information for what’s happening up in the northern capital of Thessaloniki but the search will continue.
Also, it is our intention to keep the information as current as possible, as well as any other performances that will be happening over in Athens for those of us overseas planning a trip to the homeland this winter. Read the rest of this entry »

European Music Day in Greece is celebrated from June 19 to 23, with over 350 bands and musicians in 17 cities all over Greece, including Athens, Volos, Ioannina, Rhodes, Chania, and Santorini. Three concerts with artists from Germany, France and Great Britain were chosen by the European Commission’s Intercultural Dialogue
2008 project to promote the institution.
Moreover, the audiences who cannot attend the events can tune in at “mindradio“, the radio station which will be broadcasting the concerts live from Syntagma, offering the opportunity for anyone to host his own radio show.
Summer in Greece is also the time for concerts around the country. Clubs close for the summer period and some singers take the road and take their shows around the country.
After a lot of searching I have finally compiled a list of concerts that will take place over the summer. If you are aware of any others please do let me know and I will update the list.
As well as the Greek artists I have included a few of the major “foreign” acts that are visiting Greece.
At a spectacular event Wednesday night the panel of judges and televoters have given the ticket to Kalomoira Saranti and her song “Secret Combination” to compete in the Belgrade in the 53rd Eurovision Song Contest!
Music and dancing dominated the evening show at the Athinon Arena with Betty and Mathildi Maggira being the presenters of the Greek final.
